Umeå University’s premises will open again on 10 August. Two libraries will be open this summer, but the rest of the premises mainly remain closed as usual during the summer.
Access to university premises
During the spring semester and summer, most of the doors on our campuses will remain closed to students and visitors. Students who need access to premises to collect material are asked to contact their course coordinator or Infocenter.
Most of the University will open again on 10 August. This means that public spaces, group study rooms and study spaces can be used. Please take into consideration the guidelines for disease prevention and social distancing when on campus.
Doctoral students are regarded as employees and hence have access to university premises to the same extent as other faculty and staff.
Universum Building
Closed from 26 June until 9 August. From 10 August, regular hours apply.
Open 10:00-14:00 during the summer to allow visits to the University Library. From 10 August, regular hours apply.
The University Library and affiliated libraries
During the spring semester, all group study rooms and study spaces in the Medical Library and the Umeå University Library are closed. The group study rooms in Universum are also closed. Both libraries are open for loans and access to reference literature on weekdays from 10:00-14:00.
This summer, the Umeå University Library and the Medical Library will be open according to regular summer opening hours. The Library on the Umeå Arts Campus will be closed this summer.
From 31 August, the University Library, the Medical Library and the Umeå Arts Campus library will be open with regular opening hours.
