The Swedish Government has issued a restriction of public gatherings of more than 50 people. This is valid until further notice. The decision not to host any public events is extended until the end of the year with reference to the guidelines and recommendations issued by the Public Health Agency of Sweden being valid until the end of the year.
This means that the Welcome Fair for new students normally held in September cannot be carried out as normal, and that the Annual Celebration Ceremony will be postponed until 2021, for instance. No Scientific Lunches, Fika efter en forskare or Culture on Campus will take place in their normal formats in autumn 2020.
Meetings are to be exchanged for alternative digital solutions as far as possible.
The Public Health Agency of Sweden has produced a guide to risk assessments due to covid-19 that can be useful when planning a meetin (available in Swedish only).
Public defences are still carried out, but the forms may need to be adapted. Doctoral students will receive information by their respective faculty. What is new is that posting ceremonies can now be carried out.
